Spotify won't let me listen to any music after I left premium after 3 years

Spotify won't let me listen to any music after I left premium after 3 years

So, after 3 years of premium i had to cancel my subscription, since i had to cut some things for now, so I downgraded to free from Premium and, now Spotify won't even play any music whatsoever including playlists or even regular radio music. So I'll go to a regular radio channel and play any music and i would get adds but wont let me lisren to the music. It would say playlist emty even that is not my playlist. Tried cleaning the cache, also tried to Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify to exactly the same end. At the end is pretty much pushing me to the competition. Even that i was going free for a few months

Hey @Orishaoko1979,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, since you recently changed your type of subscription and now the account is on free service, we'd suggest you check your account settings to see if everything is in order.

It might be worth checking if your account country/region is set correctly. If perhaps you are traveling, it's important to take into account that you can use Spotify in a different country or region for up to 14 days. To use it for longer than 14 days, change your account settings:

  1. Log in to your account page.
  2. Click EDIT PROFILE.
  3. Scroll down to Country or region and select your new one from the dropdown list.
  4. Click SAVE PROFILE.

Note: Your new country or region only shows when you’re actually there.

Once you've done that, try to see if these issues persist. Give it a try and let us know how it goes. If the above doesn't do the trick, would you mind sharing with us some screenshots of what you're seeing on your side, so we can further investigate? Be aware this is a public space, so please don't share any personal info in the screenshot you'll send us.

The same is happening to me. I already changed ky country from Brazil to Spain and it keeps giving me the same issue. It says all albums or playlists are empty.

I just noticed it's saying my current location doesn't match with my country in the settings, but I already changed the country to Spain. Does it take a while flr the system to understand I changed my settings or should it be immediate?

Hey @jbacellar,

Thanks for reaching out!

The app might need a sync for the change to take effect, so I'd recommend logging out and back in twice in a row. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling the app by following these steps. And one more thing - is this happening across all playlists you're trying to listen to or just specific ones?

Keep us posted.
