[All Platforms][Other] Button on play queue to shuffle current selections

Currently, in the panel "Playing from play queue" below "Now playing," if there are any selections queued, there is a listing titled "Next in Queue" with one option "Clear Queue".

My request -

Add an additional button labeled "Shuffle", have it appear only if there is more than one selection in the queue. Pressing this "shuffle" button does a random sort of the selections currently in the queue.

Note : selections below in the "Next from" section are not included, no change is made to their order.

I need this because I routinely make a selection of singles and albums from several artists but I want then to shuffle the selections. This is kind of like building a playlist on the fly.

  1. An alternate idea would be to have a button that transfers selections in the queue to a playlist. But that is less preferable because I don't want a new playlist to be added

I have been thinking about this for a long time so I'm glad someone suggested it. I often add several playlists/albums to my queue and I have to shuffle manually which is annoying, takes a long time and is not really randomized.

Can I superlike this? I'd even pay $100 to support this enhancement to playlist shuffling, which is oddly dysfunctional.

You should be able to shuffle the songs that you have put in your queue. I often queue a bunch of songs from artists, but then have to manually mix them all together by dragging the songs around in the queue.

I love this feature! Please consider it! Sometimes making a playlist is too much of an effort. I have hundreds of them. Also, it would be nice to easily divide the ones that I like from the ones that I created.

I think looping could be applied here as well. We don't have a "Loop Queue" button and that would be plenty useful for when you don't want to lose your songs in the queue.

Hi there!

I've been thinking about something. Very often, I queue up a lot of songs, sometimes up to 80. It could be that I quickly go through artists I want to listen to and queue up the specific songs I want to hear from them. Eventually, it becomes like a temporary playlist for that moment. Whether it's background music for a dinner or if I have a four-hour hard work ahead and want some music playing. Anyway, one feature I'm currently missing is the ability to shuffle the songs in the queue. Instead of hearing 5 songs from one artist and then 5 songs from the next artist, I'd like to be able to shuffle all the songs I've added to the queue.

Alternatively, perhaps you could have a "Create Temporary Playlist" option where I can select 15 artists, and then Spotify choose songs I usually listen to from those artists, along with maybe a new song I should try?

That would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Today I tried adding whole albums to my queue after clearing it, then pressed shuffle button to shuffle the songs in those 5 albums. It only shuffled the order of the albums, not the separate songs in them 😭
