3-dot menu on Now Playing View crashes iOS app

We're getting reports that accessing the song menu (3-dot menu) on NPV is causing the app to crash on iOS devices. This is being looked into.

My Question or Issue

Today i updated my Spotify to the newest version and ever since, when i want to open the options menu (the button with the 3 dots where you can do the sleep timer and stuff) in the top right of the currently playing song screen my app freezes for 3 seconds and then crashes. The moment i press the button the song that is playing stops and the speakers of my phone make a short crackling noise.

i have seen a post about this exact problem but only about android and i did not see anyone in the comments talking about ios having this issue. That post was also closed and in the “solution” it didn’t say anything about ios either so im making this post for all ios users who also experience this problem

Same issue on ios 16 and I also can’t add a widget as when I search spotify it does not even show up.

My Question or Issue

Every time I try to open the options menu for a song on the player (so I can add a sleep timer for example), the audio playback glitches out and stops, the app freezes for 5-10 seconds and then it crashes. I've tried restarting my phone but that did not fix the issue. I have not tried reinstalling the app yet as I do not want to have to download all of my library again. I'm using the latest version of Spotify (8.9.96.547).

Exact same here on iPhone 8. Really annoying at 12:00 at night when I just want to turn on a sleep timer for my music and all I get is some crackling and a frozen screen haha.

My Question or Issue:

I encountered a bug in the Spotify app (version 8.9.96) on my iPhone 14 running iOS 16.6. The issue occurs when I play a song and tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner of the screen. The app immediately crashes and force closes.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open Spotify on my iPhone 14.

2. Play any song.

3. Tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner of the screen.

4. Observe that the app crashes instantly.

Expected Behavior:

The three-dot menu should open as intended, showing song-related options without crashing the app.

Actual Behavior:

The app crashes and closes unexpectedly when I tap the button.

Please investigate this issue.
