Group Session Link Not Working

My Question or Issue

Group session invites not working. Issues have persisted for over a week. When sending the link it takes you to a generic Spotify page (see screenshot)

Issues persist regardless of how invite is sent (copy, SMS, Messenger)

I have reinstalled app multiple times. Restarted router. Attempted from different WiFi. Attempted from multiple devices. Attempted from multiple user accounts

Hello, the issue obviously haven't been resolved, so why are you mentioning a workaround when you didn't present one? This issue needs to be resolved as we are paying for the FULL service of this app, not a partial service. Please advise how this will be fixed and when. Thank you.

I’ve gone through tons of topics to get an answer on how to get the group sessions to work and I finally found one!

- start a group session

- got to add friends and copy the link

- send the link to your friends and have them copy it

- once they copy the link go onto the app and paste the link in the search bar

- a screen will pop up with a button to join the session

This is the only way I have been able to get sessions to work and it works everytime for me. Hopefully anyone having this problem can find this reply to get it to work because I have stressed so much over all the different ways to get it work.

I regret buying the premium of spotify I bought it to use group session. The group session is worst of the worst it never works its full of bugs and it resulted in lots of fight between me and my gf. Now I am starting to hate spotify and its useless service.i think its better for devs like you guys to suggest alternate to spotify

Just to confirm, did you try the workaround shared by @summerellarae? If not done yet, you can give it a try if the link for the group session is not working.

If you're not having this inconvenience with the link, can you share with us what exactly happens when you try to create a group session? Send us as many details as possible. This way we can help by sharing some alternatives for you to try.

Make sure both your device and the app are up to date.

This thing doesn't work at all. I tried the solution marked here and it's not working. I don't get the point of spotify offering this but still not working. I can create a session and be a host but I can't join anything. What gives??!

Yup. I have and the only way for the link to work is for me to Uninstall
the app, then click the link. It will go through the entire install app and
login process before I can join a session. Which is really counterintuitive
and a huge waste of time and premium membership. You guys need to work on a
fix on this.

It’s now over halfway through 2023 and this still isn’t resolved?? i’ve looked through this WHOLE thread and tried everything and nothing works!!!

Mine is doing the same exact thing. How are you going to let the beta work perfectly, but then yall release this hunk of unworking garbage. Spotify group sessions is the best thing about ur app. Make the link work and sync the music closer on time. Even if you open the link and it takes you to the spotify app and just clear the songs and lets you sit there in silence. (no hate towards you brutha and i did the steps yall recommendeed before <3)

Also just figured out if you have ad blockers on try turning them off that might help. I turned mine off and it started working, not sure why though.
