My Question or Issue

I have my Spotify linked to Google Nest Home and I also have a family premium subscription.  If I want to listen to my music in my car on the way to work, it is instantly cut off when someone at home wants to listen to music on the Google Nest Home Hub.

How do I stop this from happening as it is incredibly frustrating and it is ruining my playlists. My partner also has a spotify premium log in but it seems when she uses the voice command at home the Google Nest instantly plays music from my account not hers?

Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know how I can resolve it?

Thank you in advance,

Gareth

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

If you want to listen on two different devices you should upgrade to the duo premium or simply make a new account for you and one for the device at home

Hey there folks!

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Keep in mind that only one Spotify account can be linked to your Google Nest account.

Since currently yours is the one linked to the speaker, when someone else wants to use it they'll use your account by default. Also, it's important to mention that it's not possible to listen to music with the same account on more than one device, that's why your listening gets interrupted when your partner uses the device.

In this case, you can either unlink your account from your speaker and link your partner's following the steps @Jeremy sent previously (if you don't want to use the speaker anymore) or check this article on how to add multiple accounts to your speaker, so your partner can link their own account to their own Google profile.

Let us know how it goes 🙂
