Payment/ Student Discount questions

I have signed up for the free trial, and I am a student so i was planning on using spotify premium after the free trial through the student discount. ( My account is associated with my student email). When i signed up for the free trial, my account was pinged for the 9.99 normal charge, I was wondering how I would go about switching to the student discount and I was also wondering why my account was pinged during the free trial period? Thanks for your help and support. ( I would have sent a email to a support team but I was unable to locate the support email address, so forgive me if im posting in the wrong section.)
