Unable to join family plan. Spotify said I'm still subscribed to premium but I don't. Help.

I am unable join my family plan and keep getting error message that says "Sorry! We cannot join you to Premium for Family since you have subscribed to Spotify Premium from another store (e.g. iTunes or your mobile operator). Find out more below."
 
The problem is, even my account panel said I am a free user. It looks like spotify still regocnized my account as premium instead of free. Help anyone?

I have the same exact issue.

Here's the information you requested:
Browser: Samsung Internet for android
Device: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
County: The Netherlands
Mobile internet: Vodafone

I can't join the family account with my free account. I have no iTunes. I've made a soptify account in 2014 and canceled that a half years later. Now I have a free account. And a token for family but my Internet browser keeps saying the same Avery time.

United States. Verizon. Samsung mini phone. I can't get in either after already setting up a free account.

Same here Italy, tested on 3 devices, Android and Windows, can't join family 😞

same problem here, it seems to be a spotify-side issue

I have been sent a premium family plan invite by a family member.  However when I click on the link I get this message:

 

Cannot join Premium for Family 😞

Sorry! We cannot join you to Premium for Family since you have subscribed to Spotify Premium from another store (e.g. iTunes or your mobile operator). Find out more below.

  

This does not make sense because my account clearly indicates that I am on the free plan per the message below on my account page & I have also logged into my iTunes account and there is no indication in iTunes about a plan or subscription to Spotify that I can cancel.

You're currently Spotify Free. With Free, you'll hear ads, and you won't be able to listen offline, or play on-demand on mobile. Come back to Premium anytime you like.

I'm having same exact issue. Any updates on this problem?

I attempted to add a family member to our spotify family premium account. i sent an invite to this family member and they are unable to accept it. The reason provided is that they have subscribed to spotify premium from another store (itunes).

 

The family member has a free spotify account, does not have a facebook account at all, and after logging into itunes, there is no evidence that a spotify account exists on itunes.

 

Therefore the reasons that spotify provides for not being able to add this person are not relevant in this case.  

 

Any suggestions on how to get past this issue and add my family member to the account?

I've also tried to do that on the computer - didn't work. We've tried creating new account - didn't work aswell.

I have the same problem here, I've tried many times with different devices and browsers and got the same result.

Hi!

 

I am inivited to my premium family plan however I am not able to connect. My current account status is spotify free and I never subscribed else where. When i click on the link provided it keeps saying "Sorry! We cannot join you to Premium for Family since you have subscribed to Spotify Premium from another store (e.g. iTunes or your mobile operator). Find out more below." I don't have an iTunes account either....

 

I am not sure how this happened and don't know where to go from here. Please let me know if anyone knows what to do.

I am also experiencing the same issue. Spotify believes that i have subscribed to spotify premium from another store even though i have never bought the subscription before. Please help!

Yes, this is happening to me too

Oh no is it only happening to us? I think they're flipping some switches in the background so we are fully 'free' and can get family. Ill sleep on it. Hopefully this is solved tomorrow. 

hey, i am trying to accept a spotify premium family offer but when i click on "accept invitation" in the email an error pops up stating that apparently i am already subscribed in another store. How can i unsubscribe from whereever it is that i am subscribed and join the premium family account?
