Will Spotify Duo Premium Work After Moving to Another Country?

Hi, I’m currently in the US and sharing a Spotify Duo plan with my friend. I’ll soon be relocating to a different country for work, and I’m wondering if my Spotify Premium will continue to work after the move. Do I need to update any account or plan settings to ensure everything works smoothly in the new country? Thanks!

Thanks for getting back.

 

Unfortunately, all members of a Premium Duo/Family plan must reside at the same physical address as the plan owner, so you, unfortunately, won't be able to continue to be part of the plan.

Thanks for reaching out.

 

Generally, everything should continue to work at first, but since it's a Premium Duo plan (the same applies to the Premium Family plan), I highly recommend updating the payment method to one issued in the new country, otherwise you might run into issues when it comes to inviting members. 🙂

Hi @Maxim,

Thanks for your response! Just to clarify my situation: I am not the one paying for the Duo plan, my friend (the admin) is still living in the U.S. and paying for the subscription. I was invited as a member and joined through their invite link. Now that I’ve moved to another country for work, do you think this will cause any issues with my membership on the Duo plan, even though the person who pays is still in the U.S.?

 

I want to make sure everything stays smooth on my end!
