Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

In case you're experiencing this issue, make sure to give it a thumbs up and provide us with the following info:

  • your device's make, model and OS version
  • the exact version of Spotify you're running
  • the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far

Thanks! We'll pass the details on to our tech folks so they can look further into this. In the meantime, try clearing the queue via the Clear queue button on the desktop app / Web Player to see if that does the trick.

My Question or Issue

Whenever I’m listening to a playlist and I decide to add a song to queue, it’s doesn’t play and it causes the playlist I’m listening to just stop playing completely.

My Question or Issue

on the spotify version 1.2.53 when you try queueing a song it wont work at all, basically when u play a song then queue a song and the song ur currently playing ends it will end at the end and just not play the queued song, if u try skipping it turns into something else and i will show a ss of both of these instances, and u wont be able to listen to music while a song is in your queue you have to completely clear queue or this will continue happening.

My Question or Issue

It works normally most of the time, but as soon as I have a song in the queue, it stops working when the current song playing ends and it shows a grey 'nothing playing' box. It then only plays if I manually select another song from the playlist, and the same thing happens again if I don't clear the queue. It only happens on this device, and I've tried everything listed to get working again (clearing the cache, restarting the app, uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting the device) with no success.

For some reason, Spotify can not play properly.

If I press on a song, after the song completes, the other songs in the playlist or queue will not play.

Instead, it looks like the app is offline.

I can still press on songs, and they still play, but just one at a time.

Is this normal? If not, how can I fix this?

I'm also having the same issue, can confirm that the latest version (1.2.53) has this problem.

Thank you for posting in the Spotify community 

 

If song is not playing in queue, firstly i would suggest you to perform one time action of force start application and restart the Spotify App.

Additionally, please check if the application is updated on the device, make sure your internet connection is stable

Please also check if your device’s operating system is updated and try clearing cache on your device.

I have exactly the same problem after the most recent Spotify update and nothing seems to work. Tried to clear the chache, reinstall the app et cetera
