My Question or Issue
I recently had the daughter board in my Tesla Model S upgraded. That reset the bluetooth connection, so I had to pair my phone again. Upon doing this, the Spotify app on my phone now always interrupts playback on my Tesla Spotify app.
As an example, I'll be listening to Song #1 on the Tesla Spotify app, then I'll get out of the car to go into the gym where I'll use the Spotify Android app to listen to my workout playlist.
When I get back into the car at some point later, Song #1 stops playing as soon as the bluetooth connects, and the Tesla Spotify app says playback has been interrupted because Spotify is active on another device, namely my Android.
I close down the Spotify app on my Android when I'm done working out. I've even tried force closing it. It doesn't matter. As soon as the bluetooth connects, the Android app opens and starts playing (although it's inaudible because I don't use the Android app to play music in my car).
There's no setting that I can find to stop this behavior. All that needs to happen is for the Android app to not automatically start up as soon as the phone connects to bluetooth, but there doesn't seem to be any way to stop this from happening.
It's extremely annoying to have to deal with this every single time I get in the car.
Hi, same problem here (on france) with my Tesla Model Y (2023) with my spotify (premium family) on iPhone.
at the beginning, I am pretty sure it works and since x weeks, it is broken.
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.
In this case, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of your mobile devices along with the Spotify version you're running there? It's worth checking if the firmware on your Tesla is up-to-date.
On another note, does this happen if you open your account on a different mobile device and sync it to your Tesla? It'd be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your accounts there, sync them to your Tesla cars and check.
Lastly, would you mind sending us a video recording of this behavior? You can attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google Drive and make them public, so we can visualize them.
Keep us in the loop!
Same issue in brand new Model Y with Android S23.
Mine worked flawlessly in my MYP 22 for the last 2 years. Last week this behavior started and I'm not sure why.
Same here
Same problem for me too. Even though I pause the app on my Pixel 8 Pro, I get the message, "Playing on another device". I refresh the list, then the music plays and then it randomly stop with that message again sometime later. The music is not playing on my other device.
