2 User ID's but only 1 email

2 User ID's but only 1 email

Plan - should be Premium on both devices. iPhone showing "free" and MacBook Air is showing Premium Family

 

Country - USA

 

Device - iPhone 14 (issue is with the phone) & MacBook Air Early 2015 (no issue with the MacBook)

 

Operating System

iPhone: 18.1.1

MacBook Air: Monterery 12.7.6

 

My Question or Issue

Changed credit card used for payment. Phone would not allow it so I used my MacBook Air. The payment processed correctly on the MacBook Air, however, when I tried using Spotify on my iPhone it said, "Free".

 

Upon closer review, I somehow have 2 different User ID's that use the same email, but when I try using the same User ID that shows up on my MacBook Air, Spotify defaults back to the User ID that was previously on my iPhone.

 

Where I'm at: Spotify works on my MacBook Air.I deleted the Spotify account on my iPhone, however, when I try logging in using the User ID that works on my MacBook Air I get an error message that says either the User ID or Password is incorrect.

 

Also, if anyone has a phone number for Spotify please send. It's very frustrating being this far down the rabbit-hole and there is not a human being to talk to / walk through how to correct this.

Thanks for reaching out. That's odd. 

 

Can you please try signing in at https://spotify.com/account using your username and password? If you can log in successfully and the page says you're on Premium, try using those login credentials on your iPhone.

So I can login to Spofity on my MacBook Air, but when I try using the exact same credentials on my iPhone I now get an error message that either my User ID or Password is incorrect.

 

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify App on my iPhone and have the same issue.

Thanks for following up!

 

If the issue persists, I’d recommend checking the exact email address registered on your Spotify account.

 

You can do this by opening your Account page directly from the Spotify desktop app on your Mac:

  1. Click on your profile picture.
  2. Select Account to directly open the Account Overview page in your browser.
  3. Under Account, click on Edit profile, where you’ll find the email address linked to your account.

Once you’ve confirmed the email, try logging into the app on your phone using that same email and password.

 

If you’ve forgotten the password, you can reset it here.

 

If you’re still unable to log in with the correct details, it’s best to reach out Support, who can take a closer look and help you get this sorted.
